Julius Scott joined the the department as director of compliance ahead of the Royals' transition to Division I. Scott joined the Royals at the start of the fall season with nearly 10 years of experience after most recently spending four seasons at Norfolk State University.

Scott spent three seasons as the director of compliance at Norfolk State before being named assistant athletic director for compliance prior to the start of his final season with the Spartans. In addition to many other things, Scott oversaw and ensured overall compliance with the NCAA, conference office, and institutional rules and regulations for 13 sports. He also served as the point person for compliance certification and eligibility processes for the student-athletes and he led all eligibility of recruited student-athlete standards through review and evaluation of transfer credits.

Scott began his career as a championship and compliance intern with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) before serving as a compliance counselor and athletic academic counselor at Alcorn State University from 2015-2016. He then moved on to Savannah State University as the assistant athletic director for compliance/game operations where he remained until joining the Spartans in the fall of 2018.

Scott holds a bachelor's degree in health, physical education, and recreation from Virginia State University. He received a master's degree in education with a concentration in sports management from Alcorn State in 2016.
