3:00 PM- Start of 600-Meter Student Sprint Challenge (open to students of all ages)

Parking
Reserved parking will be available for officials and team vans at the entrance to the park. Buses will be directed to park in the upper lot by the soccer field.
Course
Women’s 5,000-meters (One 5,000-m loop)

Men’s 8,000-meters (One 5,000-m loop and one 3,000-m loop)

- Start line is approximately 40-meters wide arced across a level grass field
- The first turn is approx. 950-meters into the race
- At this point the course narrows to approx. 10-feet
- The remainder of the course is run on a crushed limestone path
- At approx 2200-m, course has a 150-m incline and a 75-m decline
- Next ¼-mile contains a few rolling hills
- Mile markers and split timers will be provided
- Races will be led by a Bicycle Riding Leader and trailed by a Motor Vehicle with Athletic Trainer

- Go South on I-77 S/US-21 S for 1.7-miles
- Take I-277/NC-16/Brookshire Frwy exit, EXIT 11
- Merge onto I-277 S/NC-16 S/W BROOKSHIRE FWY via EXIT 11A on the LEFT for 2.1-miles
- Merge onto US-74 E via EXIT 2B on the LEFT toward NC-27 E/INDEPEDENCE BLVD for 5.3-miles
- Turn SHARP RIGHT onto IDLEWILD RD. for 0.3-miles
- Turn SHARP LEFT onto MONROE RD. for 2.6-miles
- McAlpine Creek Park (8711 MONROE RD) is on LEFT
Directions from McAlpine Creek Park to Queens Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park:
- Turn LEFT onto MONROE RD from McAlpine Creek Park for .09-miles
- Turn RIGHT onto SARDIS RD. N for 1.4-miles
- Turn RIGHT onto SARDIS RD. for 2.3-miles
- Turn LEFT to stay on SARDIS RD. for 1.1-miles
- Stay STRAIGHT to go onto FAIRVIEW RD. for 3.2-miles
- Keep LEFT at the fork to continue on FAIRVIEW RD.
- Stay STRAIGHT to go onto TYVOLA RD.
- QU SPORTS COMPLEX (2229 TYVOLA RD) is on your RIGHT
Directions to I-77 from Queens Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park:
- Turn RIGHT into TYVOLA RD from Sports Complex for 1.7-miles
