MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's cross country team took silver in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Cross Country meet this morning earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Championships. Queens saw four runners cross within the top ten and all five of their scoring runs place within the top 25. Additionally, the team placed

Natane Deruytter,
Lucie Noall,
Hannah Wolkenhauer, and
Carissa Jenkins on the All-Southeast Regional team for their performance during the day's events.
Montevallo took the top spot in the meet outscoring the Royals by just six points totaling a score of 41. Queens finished the day with 47 points for the second-place finish, while Wingate rounded out the automatic bids with a score of 98 for third.
"I'm excited with the women's performance this weekend," said Cross Country Coach
Tsehaye Baney. "The women have continued to show improvement. As a coach, we focus on our top five runners beginning within a minute spread and this weekend the ladies were able to obtain that. Now the focus is to continue to stay healthy and get ready for the national meet."
Kule was the top Royal on the course today crossing the finish line with a time of 21:33.51 for fourth place in the competition. Deruytter was not far behind as she finished the race in fifth place with a time of 21:38.37. Noall and Wolkenhauer rounded out the top ten, receptively, as Noall finished in seventh with a time of 21:45.40 while Woulkenhauer tabbed 10th with a time of 21:50.71. Jenkins secured the last scoring run for the team racing in with a time of 22:32.53 to tab a 23rd overall finish.
Also competing,
Mandi Moxie finished the day in 48th with a time of 23:23.68 and
Kim Thiede in 62nd place with a time of 23:41.85.
Queens will head to the NCAA Division II Championships in St. Leo, Fla., on November 19th.
