nd at the NCAA Division II National Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 21, 2015. The team was led by
Yannick Stubbe who ran a 31:06.5, for a personal record.
Colorado Mines would be the top team on the men's side seeing a score of 100, as four of their runners crossed within the top 25.
"The Men's team showed heart today," said Cross Country Coach
Tsehaye Baney. " Four of the guys competed in their second cross country 10k race ever and five of the men set personal best times with most of them improving significantly . It was easy to see that they left nothing on the course. With the weather not in our favor, it was about competing today and pushing their bodies to the limit and I believe that's exactly what they executed."
Stubbe would finish the race in 77
th place, scoring 61 points.
Elijah Inuwa took the second scoring run for the Royals, crossing with a 32:43.4 to improve by nearly three and a half minutes for a personal record. He would place 195
th to score 172 points.
Jose Rosas finished third for the Royals finding a time of 32:59.3, for a personal best, and grabbing 212
th place for 188 points.
Ben Schmidt and
Avery Cypress were the last scoring runs for Queens as Schmidt secured 220
th at the event with a time of 33:08.9 (personal best) while Cypress ran a 33:43.7 for 239
th place (personal best). Schmidt took 196 points while Cypress took 214 points.
Also running,
Henno Havenga crossed right on the heels of teammate Cypress, finishing the race with a 33:43.7 for 240
th.
The race marks the end of the Royals 2015 cross country season.
