Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte (14-12, 12-10 SAC) faced Anderson University (20-8, 15-7 SAC) for the second time this season. In their first meeting the Royals fell to the Trojans in a thriller by one point. They would return the favor tonight defeating Anderson, 75-73, in a game that came down to the wire in Curry Arena.

With three seconds to play, Anderson's Chandler Hash had a chance to give his team the home-and-home sweep with a three pointer from the corner but senior wingman
David Mason came up with a huge block as the buzzer sounded.

The Royals trailed the Trojans the entire second half until a 7-0 run late in the game gave the home team a 61-60 lead with 5:37 to play. A free-throw from Hash would tie things up for a bit, but senior forward
Josh Clyburn of Queens would put the Royals back on top with a layup. Once again, Hash had the answer for Anderson, this time in the form of a three-pointer, putting his team back in control, 64-63, with 3:45 to play.

Four ties and three lead changes would follow in the intense game with the Royals taking the lead for good on a three from junior point guard
Trey Ervin. Hash tied the game once more with a lay-in, but a pair of made free-throws from senior guard
Jarrett Stokes with 17 seconds to play helped Queens keep the control. Hash stayed persistent for the Trojans getting fouled and sent to the line where he only connected on one of his two shots.

Forced to foul, the Trojans sent Stokes to the line where he knocked down one of two to give Queens the 75-73 victory.

The Royals opened tonight's game shooting just 36.7 percent from the floor. Anderson shot 53.6 percent from the floor in the opening half and held a 36-27 lead at the break after ending the period with an 8-0 run.

Senior
Brent Evans led the Royals tonight with 16 points and 13 rebounds. He currently has 921 career points and 586 career rebounds. Stokes completed play with 15 points, while Ervin added 13 points.

The Royals outscored Anderson 34-28 in the paint and won the battle under the glass, 44-33.

Hash finished the game with 31 points for Anderson, while Alani Adekambi added 10 points.

Queens' seniors, Clyburn, Evans, Mason and Stokes were recognized before the start of play for their careers as Royals.

Queens will travel to Anderson University on Wednesday to face the Trojans in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The Royals enter the tournament as the No. 6 seed, while Anderson is the No. 3 seed. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
