Bart Lundy returns to lead men’s basketball

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte director of athletics Jeannie King announces the hiring of Bart Lundy to lead the men's basketball program. Lundy was previously the Royals head coach from 1997-2003, when he led Queens to a combined 115-41 record during his tenure. Lundy also took the program to the Elite Eight twice during his tenure at Queens. In his final season, the Royals posted a  29-4 record during the 2002-03 campaign making it to the semifinal round of the national tournament.

"We are very thrilled to bring Coach Lundy back to campus. He served us well during his initial stint at Queens," said King. "We believe his growth and professional development over the past eleven years has more than equipped him for our next level of growth as we continue to strengthen our program.  Coach Lundy will be a great ambassador for our program, with the combination of opening the new Levine Center and moving to the South Atlantic Conference, we are well positioned for a successful journey ahead."

"Since leaving Queens eleven years ago my path has taken me all across the country and to all levels of Division I basketball," Lundy said. "What I have come to understand is that the people and culture at Queens are unique and special. I'd like to give my sincere thanks to Dr.  Davies and Jeannie King and all the folks involved in this process for the opportunity to again be the steward over the men's basketball program and come home."
