Royals earn No. 6 seed in NCAA Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte volleyball team received great news today as they were selected as the six seed in the NCAA Southeast Regional. The Royals earned the bid following a season where they posted a 17-11 record and tied for third in the SAC. This selection will mark the first time the Royals have entered NCAA postseason play in school history.

"The team absolutely deserved this," said head coach Lettie Wilkes." They have worked so hard every day, and achieved one of our main goals this season. With this being the first time in school history, I could not pick a better team to represent Queens."

Queens will travel to Wingate, N.C. to play the No. 3 seed Flagler (20-12) on December 5. The match will be played at host site Wingate University, and live stats and video will be available.

The Royals were previously unranked in the polls, and had a seven game win streak to end the regular season that included three wins over teams headed to the playoffs as well. If they win the Royals will play the winner of Newberry and Armstrong Atlantic.

More information will be posted to QueensAthletics.com when available.
