Three to join Royals Cheerleading this fall

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte Royals cheerleading program is pleased to announce that three additional student-athletes have been added to the 2012-13 roster. Chrissy Bobro (Fishkill, N.Y.), Paige Record (Irmo, S.C.), and Meghan Michael (Easton, Pa.) will join the cheerleading program this fall.

Each of these student-athletes brings with them a dynamic skill set that we hope will continue to raise the level of athleticism within our program.

Bobro
Bobro is coming to Queens from John Jay High School where her team had an outstanding showing at CANAM Nationals this year placing second in the Super Large Varsity division.

“Chrissy is a versatile athlete with a solid work ethic, and we are thrilled that she will be joining us this fall,” said cheerleading head coach Lori Townsend

Record will be joining the Royals from Dutch Fork High School. She is a main base and is finishing up a strong season with her high school team who placed in the top ten at this year's state cheerleading championship.

“Paige's love of the sport is evident, and we are certain that she will be sincerely dedicated to the continued progress of our program,” commented Townsend.

Michael is already a Royals fan, thanks to her brother Matthew Michael who plays on the men's lacrosse team. She is a solid base, and has cheered for the very successful program at Valley Elite All-Stars for the past several years.

“We are so fortunate to be bringing Meghan to our team this fall because she brings skill expertise and a great deal of competition experience to the table,” stated Townsend.
