MacColl named to 2012 ASCA Fellows class

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The American Swimming Coaches Association released a list of six selected as 2012 ASCA Fellows today and Queens University of Charlotte's Jon MacColl was one earning the honor. MacColl is the assistant coach of the men's and women's swim teams, and 2012 represents the 12th class of Fellows.

“I am very proud of Jon and his continued desire to impact the sport of swimming,” commented Queens head coach Jeff Dugdale. “Having the best swimmers in the world to work with and learn from in our own backyard is huge. David Marsh, CEO/ Director of Coaching at SwimMAC Carolina, fully backed this as well which is a testament to Jon's passion and desire to roll up his sleeves and get the job done.”

The ASCA Fellows program is a mentoring program for swimming coaches, designed to foster the future coaches/leaders of American swimming. Annually, the program takes a select group of coaches pairing them with a mentor coach. Together they work on a year-long project designed to advance the swimming body of knowledge. They will give their presentations at the 2013 ASCA World Clinic.

"I am excited and honored for the opportunity to further American swimming," said MacColl.
