Queens victorious over Bobcats

The Royals won 18-2.

Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Corey Geroy (Horseheads, N.Y., Horseheads) and Casey Hock (Danville, Calif., Monte Vista) each recorded hat tricks this afternoon and the Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team defeated the Lees-McRae College Bobcats 18-2. With the win, the Royals' record improved to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Bobcats fall to 1-10 on the season and 0-5 in the league.

Matthew Michael (Easton, Pa., Easton) and Hock were able to lead the Royals in points with five each. Hock added two assists to his three goals, while Michael scored two goals and dished out three assists. Jimmy Baker (Prince Fredrick, Md., Calverton) collected two goals and two assists, while Evan Farkas (Havre de Grace, M.D., C. Milton Wright) notched one goal and two assists. Andrew Hyland (Newtown, Conn., Fairfield Prep) took the win in goal after collecting four saves. Nick Simonetti (Dublin, Ohio, Dublin Jerome) recorded three saves after spending 30 minutes in goal.

Danny Ives and Jeff White scored one goal apiece for the Bobcats. Ryan Harris took the loss in the net after getting 14 stops.

Queens was able to build a large lead in the first quarter outscoring the Bobcats 7-1. They then added seven more goal in the second quarter giving the game a 14-1 score at the half.

The second half featured less offense as the Royals put four more goals on the board, while holding the Bobcats to only one more score.

The Royals outshot Lees-McRae to 50-16.

Queens is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to face Coker at 6 p.m.
