Men’s soccer volunteers to help the homeless

28 Royals dedicated their time to the event.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -   The Queens University of Charlotte men's soccer team took time out of its winter schedule to volunteer at The Street Soccer USA Charlotte Invitational being put on by the Urban Ministry Center in uptown Charlotte. 28 Royals helped out at the tournament held January 28-30th.

The Street Soccer USA Charlotte Invitational is defined as a unique “sport for social change” event that features homeless athletes from 10 cities across the country. The tournament was a family friendly event that showcased fast-paced, four-versus-four soccer action. The Urban Ministry Center also put together a youth tournament and an adult co-ed tournament showcasing soccer at all levels for the Charlotte community.

The men's soccer team acted as referees on Friday and Saturday. The Royals split up in groups of three so that they could cover all of the games at the event.
