Hudley named January female InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month

Hudley wins the award for the second month in a row.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Marissa Hudley (Charlotte, N.C., Harding University ) of the women's basketball team has been named the female InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month for her record breaking performances in the month of January.

The Royals went 5-4 during the month of January facing all Conference Carolinas opponents. Hudley led Queens scoring 21.2 points and grabbing 10.8 rebounds per game. She also had an 85-percent free-throw shooting percentage going 51-of-60 from the line. She is currently ranked 16th in the nation with 86-percent free-throw shooting. Hudley is also nationally ranked 18th in rebounding average.

Hudley scored 20-plus points on four of the Royals' outings with her biggest performance coming in a game against Coker College when she became Queens' all-time leading scorer. On January 29th Hudley scored 31 points to pass the leaders on the men's and women's lists. Hudley also recorded seven double-doubles in January. She is now 19 rebounds away from becoming the leading rebounder in the women's basketball program as well.

Today, Hudley is averaging 17.1 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
