The women's team returns all players from their 2009-2010 season.
Head Coach Brett Karpman and Queens University of Charlotte is proud to welcome two new comers to the women's tennis team that returns all their players from their 2009-2010 campaign
Gillian Mclinden joins the Queens program from Marrietta,Ga. Mclinden graduated with honors from Marietta High School while being involved in the Beta Club and Key Club. Captain of her high school team, she was a four-year starter at number one singles achieving a record of 87/17. She has lead her team to four consecutive trips to the Georgia state tournament; while being recognized as a scholar athlete by the Marietta Daily Journal.
" Gillian was very high on our board due to her tennis level and the type of individual she is," said Coach Karpman. "She structures points extremely well, and with some added strength will be a big addition for us. She comes from an outstanding family and possesses a true passion for the game like her new teammates."
Christina Rustscheff comes to Queens from Toronto, Canada. Rustscheff graduated from Bayview Glen with a 4.0 grade point average while earning a place on the Head's Honor Role.
When asked about Rustscheff, Coach Karpman had this to say. "Christina's high school does an incredible job of producing high character individuals. On the court Christina excels with large groundies and the ability to serve and volley to close out points. She is also a great competitor and a very versatile player. I am eager to watch her development on the court and in the gym".
