CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Tanya Zeferjahn held on to finish 16th-place at her first USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and her last time in a Queens’ jersey. After a quick early pace in the 10,000-meters, Des Moines, Iowa heat and humidity eventually slowed the entire field. Zeferjahn, a two-time NCAA DII champion at the distance, still managed to clock 34:28.27, which ranks as her second fastest 10k ever.
Zeferjahn will remain in Charlotte for the final semester of her MBA, but plans to continue racing in Europe for the remainder of the season.
