CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association has announced the 2010 All-America recipients and Queens’ senior
Hunter Roof (Prince Frederick, Md., Calverton) has been named All-America Honorable mention for his defensive play.
“I was glad to see Hunter earn this recognition,” said Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach Jim Fritz. “He really had an outstanding year and deserved the honor. He had an excellent season shutting out a second team All-America and holding two other All-America's to just one point. For the year, he gave up a total of 12 points in 13 games covering each team's number one player which was truly impressive.”
This is Roof’s third post-season award having been named Conference Carolinas All-Conference First Team and then part of the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team.
Roof is one of three Conference Carolinas players to be chosen for the accolade. Two Limestone players joined Roof, one on the first team and the second a fellow honorable mention honoree.
