CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Ben Lasso (Falls Church, Va., Heritage Academy) is leading the 108 man-field by one stroke, -1, after two rounds of play at the Division II NCAA Men’s Golf Championship at the Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind. As a team, the Royals are tied for sixth place by shooting 309 during the second round for an overall scorecard of 614.

Florida Southern holds the top spot, moving up two from the first round. Sonoma State and Nova Southeastern are tied for second while Chico State is in fourth and Western New Mexico holds the fifth position. Queens is tied with Cameron.

Lasso carded seven birdies during the round to finish two-under-par on the day. A solid first round of 73 held off Cyri Bouniol of Abilene Christian as he came in with the tournament low four-under during the second round, but a four-over in the opening round kept him behind Lasso.

Ryan Sevigny (Stittsville, Ontario, Sacred Heart) turned in another solid effort for the Royals with a +4 to give him an eight-over-par thus far. He is currently tied for 23rd, a three-spot drop from the first day.

David Bainbridge (England, Thomas Alleynes) improved by three strokes from the opening round to the second round. After shooting nine-over on day one he carded a six-over today.

Robert Andrew Hodge (Hebron, Ky., Conner) and Pureum Lee (North Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Handsworth Secondary) finished +9 and +13 during the round, respectively.

Queens starts the third round at 12:50pm with Lee, followed by Hodge at 1pm, Bainbridge at 1:10pm,  Sevigny at 1:20 and Lasso at 1:30pm.
