CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte Head Cross Country and Track and Field Coach Scott Simmons is pleased to announce the lead gift in the teams’ Alter-G Campaign. Texican Horizon Energy Marketing has pledged $5,000.00 to the campaign plus an addition $2,000.00 of matching funds.

“Aubrey’s enthusiasm about our project was immediate,” said Simmons. “While we still have a ways to go, it is lead gifts like this that make fundraising campaigns successful. The two treadmills will be a huge benefit to the training of our men and women.”

The campaign was launched at the beginning of May to raise $50,000.00 for the purchase of two anti-gravity treadmills. The two special treadmills will provide enhanced training for Queens student-athletes. Simmons has a goal to have one of the two pieces of equipment purchased prior to the 2010 cross country season.

“Queens’ cross country and track and field programs have flourished under Head Coach Scott Simmons’ leadership,” said Aubrey Hilliard, Texican Horizon Energy Marketing President. “It is privilege to be able to support this successful program and Queens University of Charlotte.”
