Women’s golf shaves off nine strokes in second round

Two Royals in top 10

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Royals women's golf team is still in the hunt at the Conference Carolinas Championship at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina. Host institution Belmont Abbey is leading the way with a two-round score of 620. Queens is sitting in second with 661.

Julia Wennerlund (Bjarred, Sweden, Polhemskolan) and Natalie Mirra (Boxford, Mass., Heritage Academy) improved their second rounds by five strokes to share seventh place. They each fired 79, the third lowest rounds of the day. Liz Cortez of the Abbey shot the low round of 75.

Camilla Mallberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Danderyds Gymnasium) is one spot out of the top 10, 11th, by firing an 87.

Queens is five strokes ahead of the third place team, Pfeiffer.
