CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens women’s golf sits in fourth place after one round of play in the last tournament, the Agnes McAmis Memorial, before the 2010 Conference Carolinas Championship.
Camilla Mallberg (Stockholm, Sweden, Danderyds Gymnasium) and
Natalie Mirra (Boxford, Mass., Heritage Academy) are leading the Royals with in a tie for 13
th by shooting five-over-par.
The 15 team event, hosted by Tusculum, is being hosted at Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tenn. The field includes two top 10 teams, No. 5 Belmont Abbey, No. 9 Carson-Newman, and Queens is just behind Abbey by one stroke and five off Carson-Newman. Methodist is leading the pack with a 298.
Queens is ahead of fellow Conference Carolinas schools Erskine, 11th, and Limestone, 14th.
Julia Wennerlund (Bjarred, Sweden, Polhemskolan) and
Laura Belanger (Waxhaw, N.C., Parkwood) round out the top 20 with scorecards of 78 and
Mallory Ruhling (Pittsburgh, Pa. , Penn Hill) is the fifth Queens golfer in 63
rd, respectively.
The Royals wrap up the two-round event on Tuesday.
