CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte's Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC) has united with the Sports Marketing Association and Chi Omega Sorority to host the inaugural Spring Sports Festival on Saturday, March 27th.
Children from local elementary schools are invited to participate in a morning of sports clinics and fun. Participants will have the opportunity to receive hands-on coaching while interacting with Queens' elite student-athletes. The festival will include an assortment of nine sports, to which the child may select three to participate in.
“This is a day for young kids to come out and try a variety of sports and get a little bit of coaching from student-athletes instead of your typical clinics,” said Queens lacrosse player and SAAC member
Rob Bacharach.
The organizations have chosen to donate all of the proceeds to Make-A-Wish foundation. With the $30 entry cost, all participants and parents will receive free tickets to the men's lacrosse game at 2 p.m.
“The day is strictly about fun in the community,” added Bacharach. “We want to raise awareness about Make-A-Wish while continuing to ingrain Queens into the community.”
