CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Queens University of Charlotte's
Brandon Macknew (Abington, Md., Bel Air) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse Player of the Week during week number six in the 2010 season.
The junior goalkeeper led the No. 9 Queens University of Charlotte to a 2-0 record last week, improving their first-place Conference Carolinas record to 3-0 (7-1). Picking up an 11-5 victory at Wingate University, Macknew tallied 17 saves while facing 37 shots en route to a .619 save percentage. Later in the week, he recorded 14 saves with a .643 save percentage in an 8-4 win over conference-rival St. Andrews Presbyterian College. Tops in Conference Carolinas, Macknew is currently third amongst NCAA Division II goalkeepers with a 0.664 save percentage.
