CHARLOTTE, N.C. Queens University of Charlotte's Brian Masterson (Toledo, Ohio, St. John's Jesuit) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas men's lacrosse Player of the Week during week number five in the 2010 season.

The senior attacker led nationally-ranked No. 9 Royals to their fifth consecutive win Saturday afternoon. Topping conference foe Belmont Abbey 12-10, Masterson tallied three goals and two assists to contribute on five of the Royals' 12 goals. Masterson is currently sixth in the conference with 1.8 goals per game and tenth with 2.4 points per game. Queens is tied for first in the region and currently sits .5 games ahead of Limestone for the lead in the Conference Carolinas standings.
