High Point, N.C.> Queens University of Charlotte’s Ashley McGuirt (Indian Trail, N.C., Providence Day) (17-11 overall, 15-7 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's basketball Player of the Week during week number 14 in the 2009-10 season. 

McGuirt , a senior guard, led Queens to three wins last week. With the wins, Queens moved up two spots in the conference standings from number six to number four, giving the Royals home court advantage in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament. McGuirt started the week strong, leading all scorers with 18 points and nine rebounds in their 22-point win over Lees-McRae. She scored 16 points and gathered 12 rebounds for a double-double in a 23-point win against Mount Olive. In their final game of the regular season, McGuirt led the Royals with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds in a 75-64 win at Erskine. She is currently fourth in the conference in three-point field goals made (66) and third in three-point field goal percentage (40.2).
