Kelley Duffey named conference women's lacrosse player of the week

High Point, N.C. --  Queens University of Charlotte's Kelley Duffey (New Hope, Minn. , Robinsdale Cooper ) (3-5 overall, 1-0 conf.) has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse Player of the Week during week number four in the 2010 season.

Duffey led her team this past week with seven goals and 15 assists for a total of 22 points. The Royals faced three schools out of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference during the week to improve their record to 3-5 overall.

In the first game of the week, it came down to the wire in a hard fought battle with East Stroudsburg. Duffey led her team with two goals, six assists, and three ground balls as they fell in overtime 14-13. Queens played nationally third-ranked Lock Haven University in their next game. Duffey scored two goals and tallied three assists in the loss. The Royals got their win of the week against Edinboro rolling past the Fighting Scots 21-9. Duffey led her team with three goals, six assists, and one ground ball.

Duffey averaged 2.3 goals and five assists per game this week and is currently leading the conference in assists with a total of 23.
