Royals need to fight in third round

Queens dropped from third to eighth after two rounds

Orlando, Fla.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's golf team had a challenging second round Monday at Reunion Resort in Orlando, Fla., and dropped to eighth place out of the 18-team field.  At 604, the Royals currently sit two shots ahead of No. 6 Barton, No. 10 Indianapolis and No. 20 Rollins.  Queens will have a chance to challenge for a top spot in the third and final round that starts Tuesday morning at 7:20am.

No. 24 Nova Southeastern made the jump from fourth place into first with the day's low round of four over par. After 36-holes they are +13 (598).

Braeden Cryderman (Huntsville, Ontario, St. Dominic's) led Queens with a total of 75, +3, a one stroke improvement from the first round. Both Robert Andrew Hodge (Hebron, Ky., Conner) and Pureum Lee (North Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Handsworth Secondary) finished the second round strong.  Hodge put in five birdies to finish at four over while Lee had three birdies to finish at six over. After two rounds, Hodge is leading the team with a total of 149 and is tied for 17th overall.

Sitting atop the 90-player field is Steve Brame from Lynn University by carding round totals of 67 (-5) and 73 (+1).
