CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Competing in an off distance, Tanya Zeferjahn (Hesperia, Calif., Hesperia High School) managed an NCAA automatic qualifying mark and new school record with a 4:53.33 mile at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational in New York Saturday.
Already qualified with a nation leading 16:13.00 5,000-meters, Zeferjahn will be joined at the NCAA national indoor championships in Albuquerque, N.M., by teammate Meagan Nedlo (Mt. Pleasant, TX, Pittsburg, HS) who posted an auto 5k mark the day before.
Zeferjahn finished fourth in the first of two championship heats.
