CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's cross country team has been ranked No. 9 in the Southeast Region preseason poll by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA).
Last season the program broke into the regional rankings in the final week of the season, after finishing 10th at the Southeast Region Championship.
This is the first time under Head Coach Scott Simmons the program has entered a season regionally ranked.
Queens starts the 2009 season on Sept. 5 in Boone, N.C., at the Appalachian State University meet.
