Queens University of Charlotte’s freshman pitcher Chantel Dodge (Shalimar, Fla., Choctawatchee) has been named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Second Team for the Southeast Region.
Dodge led the Royals to 17 wins and recorded an ERA of 1.81.
Most recently Dodge helped Queens in the NCAA Dahlonega Regional. Against the No. 1 team in the country, North Georgia, she gave up just two runs, and only gave one other up in the remaining two games of the tournament.
She is one of three Conference Carolinas players to earn second team honors. Dodge was named Second Team All-Conference at the conclusion of the 2009 season.
