Queens ends regular season with a 27-0 victory

CHARLOTTE,N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte closed their regular season with a strong victory over Erskine College tonight. The Royals had their second shut out of the season with their 27-0 win over the Flying Fleet.

Shannon Casey (Bel Air, Md., John Carroll), Kristi Kemp (Lake Mary, Fla., Winter Springs), Brittany Weller ( Fallston, Md., Fallston ), Carolyn Parsons (Glen Burnie, Md., Glen Burnie ), Brittany Philip (Painted Post, N.Y., East), Kelly Wrightson (Germantown, Md., Damascus ), Alyssa Hughes (Damascus, Md. , Damascus ), and Caitlin O'Rourke ( Winter Springs, Fla., Winter Springs ) all scored three goals each. Kelley Duffey (New Hope, Minn. , Robinsdale Cooper ) had two goals, and seven assists, and Paige Fisher (Schwenksville, Pa., Perkiomen Valley) captured one goal for the evening as well. Shannon Casey (Bel Air, Md., John Carroll) and Brittany Philip (Painted Post, N.Y., East) also each had three assists throughout the course of the game.

The Royals were strong defensively; not letting any goals in during the course of the evening, and only allowing one shot to be taken by Erin Connor, in the first half of the game. Erskine goalie Kaitlyn Overly made six saves in the game, logging three each half.

Queens now has a record of 5-12 overall, and can be seen playing next at the Conference Tournament. The Royals play St. Andrews Presbyterian College on April 15, 2008, in Laurinburg, NC at 4:00pm.
