Three Women’s Cross Country Runners Named All-Academic

Annas, Carmen and Neville earn awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches  Association (USTFCCCA)  has announced the 2008 USTFCCCA Cross Country All-Academic honors  on Feb. 27 and Queens University of Charlotte has three runners represented on the list.

To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be eligible. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships, or in the top 50% of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships

Representing Queens are Holly Annas (Granite Falls, N.C., South Caldwell), Katherine Carman (Terrace Park, Ohio, Ursuline Academy), and Jessica Neville (Cold Spring, N.Y., Haldane).

Annas, a freshman is majoring in nursing, while Neville is a sophomore majoring in psychology and senior Carman will graduate with a degree in business communications.

Neville became the first Royals runner to advance the NCAA Championship after taking a top five finish at the Southeast Regional Championship in 2008.
