CHARLOTTE, N.C.- Queens University of Charlotte will host a free talk featuring 2008 US Olympic distance runner Ian Dobson and his wife, Julia Lucas. Lucas is also a professional runner who competes for Reebok and is a product of Myers Park High School. The event will be held Tuesday December 22 at 7:00pm in Dana Auditorium in Sykes Hall and is open to the public. Dobson and Lucas will discuss their running careers and their experiences competing at the highest levels.

This talk marks the second year Queens has hosted a free event featuring an Olympian. Gabe Jennings, an Olympian and one of the sport’s most colorful characters, spoke the year before.

The event is held in advance of the Super Distance Summit, a coaching clinic open to both coaches and athletes that will feature an accomplished cast of coaches. The Summit, to be hosted at Queens January 2-3rd, includes Brad Hudson, Allen Webb’s long-time coach Scott Raczko, Nike legend Jeff Johnson, York High School’s Charlie Kern, ZapFitness’ Peter Rea, Jordan Hasay’s high school coach Mando Siqueiros and Queens’ Scott Simmons.
