HIGH POINT, N.C.- The Queens cross country runners have swept the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Runner of the week awards for week number six of the 2009 season. On the men's side
Michael Crouch (Yucca Valley, Calif., Yucca Valley) was named the male Runner of the Week and
Jessica Neville (Cold Spring, N.Y., Haldane) collected the award for the women's Runner of the Week.
Neville was runner-up in the Gold race at the Greater Louisville Classic helping the Royals to a third place finish in the 35-team field. Neville posted a school record time of 18:31.90 on the 5k-course beating out 296 competitors despite muddy and windy conditions.
Crouch, winning for the third time this year, finished fourth at the Greater Louisville Classic in a school record time of 23:55 for the 8k-course. Crouch led the Royals to a seventh place finish in the 38-team race that was mostly comprised of NCAA Division I teams. Queens bested, among others, Purdue, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
