CHARLOTTE, NC – The Royals came out strong against Converse Friday night and never looked back as they went on to sweep the Valkyries 25-9, 25-19, and 25-19 at Oven Athletics Center.

The Royals were led by Brittany Harvey (Matthews, N.C., Sun Valley ) who tallied eight kills on 14 attempts to hit .500, while adding two blocks and two service aces. Erinn Moore (Longwood, Fla., Lake Mary) led Queens with 11 digs and assisted on 20 of Queens’ 24 kills. Tanisha Lea (Efland, N.C., Orange Senior ) protected the net with a game-high 3.5 blocks (two solo, three assists).

The Valkyries had a difficult night establishing an attack, as they committed 25 errors en route to a team hitting percent of -0.031. Alaina Smith provided Converse with seven kills, a service ace, and one dig. Assisting on 11 of the team’s 22 kills was Lauren Hunsberger. Despite committing three service errors, Marisa Coleman proved to have a productive night in accounting for a game-high 12 digs.

The Royals are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to Limestone College for a 1:30 p.m. match.
