Royals fall to Crusaders 12-11; Duffey reaches 300th career point

Kelley Duffey (New Hope, Minn. , Robinsdale Cooper ) reached 300 career points this afternoon as the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte fell to Belmont Abby College 12-11 in the semifinal round of the 2010 Conference Carolinas Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.

Senior Kelley Duffey (New Hope, Minn. , Robinsdale Cooper ) was named to the first team while senior Rebecca Markle (Hampstead, Md., North Carroll ), junior Caitlin O'Rourke ( Winter Springs, Fla., Winter Springs ), and sophomore Brittany Philip (Corning, N.Y., Corning East) were named to the second team.

Caitlin O'Rourke ( Winter Springs, Fla., Winter Springs ) found the back of the net with 7:56 on the clock to score the game winning goal off of a feed from Kelley Duffey (New Hope, Minn. , Robinsdale Cooper ) to lead the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte past Pfeiffer University, 13-12.

Women's lacrosse struggles at Belmont Abbey

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte’s women’s lacrosse program struggled against a hot Belmont Abbey offense, as they fell to the Crusaders 16-6 on Saturday. The Royals fall to 3-2 (5-9 overall) in Conference Carolinas, while the Crusaders move to 4-2 (6-8).
